We Need You!
Developed for the community of La Calle Real, the Water Systems initiative is a sustainable, low-cost approach to a problem that touches everything from cooking to farming to school: reliable access to clean water. Frequent power outages make electric water pumps unreliable, forcing many families to rely on untreated water sources. We're researching and designing household-level solutions, such as biosand and terracotta filters and rainwater catchment systems, that don't depend on electricity and can be maintained locally.
